Segway NZ has participated at six public events over the last six weeks, where Segway PTs have been showcased in a wide variety of roles. Red Badge Security had four officers on PTs as part of the annual 10th annual Boobs On Bikes parade down Queen St, Auckland. The event was flanked by dozens of police officers along the 2km street, who were overheard saying phrases like "That's what we need, why arn't the NZ Police on PTs yet?". Red Badge staff were impressed with the capabilities of the PT, and used them again at the associated Erotic exhibition a few days later, where show attendees could ride a PT for a gold coin donation raising money for Breast Cancer treatment.
Elsewhere, thousands of people experienced the "Segway Smile" of their very first short ride on a PT at the Waikato and the Tauranga Home & Garden Shows, a Variety Club mini-Bash in Cambridge, and at SpeedShow 2009. Next up, the Waikato Boat & Leisure Show at Mystery Creek, Hamilton and the BOP FM Spring Event - both this weekend. Event Organisers at these shows were on PTs non-stop throughout set-up, on show days, and during break-down - saving their legs and boosting their productivity no end. Ask us for our Case Study highlighting dozens of NZ events big and small that have come to rely on PTs to run tighter, better shows.
Comedian and presenter extraordinaire Dai Henwood rode our Ferrari Segway PT for the Vodafone Music Awards this month. And be sure to catch the Topp Twins segueing from one skit to the next on PTs during their nationwide tour October-November.
